AMF Faculty
The Foundation is headed by a Board of Directors, noted for their expertise in clinical medicine, education, health care delivery, as well as specialty board and society administration, institutional accreditation and health care law. The Board is broadly representative of the medical specialties and includes past presidents and executives of the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Physicians, the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, the American Hospital Association, the Federation of State Medical Boards, the American Board of Internal Medicine, the Council of Medical Specialty Societies, and the American Academy of Hospital Attorneys.
Our Executive Director, Evelyn Baram-Clothier, a pharmacologist/attorney with over 40 years of medico-legal experience, manages the AMF and FAME programs, administers the on-site visits, and coordinates the nationwide network of consultant/educators.
Advisory Committee
The AMF Advisory Committee is comprised of nationally prominent clinical experts who have served as officers of specialty societies, certifying specialty boards, and as Chairs of Residency Review Committees of their respective disciplines. This multi-disciplinary committee assists the Board of Directors and advises the Foundation on expected standards of care, privileging, reprivileging, performance monitoring, remedial and continuing education.
The Peer Reviewers
The American Medical Foundation for Peer Review & Education has been fortunate to continually enlist the participation of more than 900 nationally recognized clinical specialists over the course of thirty-five years of service. Our Board of Directors and Advisory Committee carefully selects reviewers for their objectivity, established reputation, and preeminence in setting and upholding the clinical standards of their specialties. We choose people who have demonstrated their ability to provide creative solutions in a volatile delivery environment. These distinguished men and women represent all areas of specialty medicine from both university and teaching community practioners from every region of the United States and are among the nation’s foremost medical educators and practioners. We assure independence and impartiality and fulfill the good faith requirement by choosing reviewers who have no professional relationship with the individuals under review, come from a different state, and have no personal interest in the outcome.
